This historic home that was originally built by a local architect that studied under Frank Lloyd Wright has been re-built by Masters Touch Custom Homes Lakeway, TX. The home is built suspended over a natural spring fed creek that meanders under the home.
The sprawling estate sits on 10 acres nestled under large native cedar elms, spruce, and Texas live oak trees. It's spring fed creek can be enjoyed from one of the many outdoor patio spaces, and courtyard areas that perch atop the crystal water.
Steel beams support this homes elevation some 15 feet above the creek line. The home is over 5000 sq ft, with a four story stair and elevator tower. We utilized #1 clear cedar 1x6 planks for the exterior wall surfacing. In addition to the cedar we used cultured stone. This gave us the balance of earth and warmth to set this truly historic home apart.
The interior spaces were truly unique as well. All the main family areas look onto a central open space green house. There are large cedar elms and spruce trees within this space. This courtyard filters natural sunlight through the entire entertaining spaces.
Energy efficiency was also utilized extensively through the entire project. The HVAC system has multiple zones and is rated at a 17 seer rating. All the insulation is a blown in bib CertainTeed Optima system in a 2x6 wall. The windows are Eagle wood windows with Low e 4 smart sun.
This home is truly amazing and we are honored to have had the opportunity to remodel this property.
